«Кіт і Кінь» (2026)
Year
2026
Dimensions
80x100 cm
Materials
Plexiglass, glass shards
The mosaic is based on a work I created as a child. Its material is shattered glass from the windows of my studio, damaged as a result of a russian attack on Kyiv.
Here, glass is important not only as a material, but also as a fragment of a real space and event.
It preserves the trace of destruction while simultaneously becoming the basis for a new image.
The transparency of the glass allows the childhood image to overlap with the present.
We literally see the present through the lens of our childhood and our individual experience.
