In Anna Veriki's debut U.S. solo exhibition, we encounter a compelling convergence of animal aspect, human form, and elements of naiveté in vivid hues of red. These striking red details are rendered with great intention, always with her left hand (Veriki is right-handed). Veriki’s work is an exploration of primordiality, a concept she defines as the essence of beginnings, elemental configurations, and uncomplicated sentiments—unadulterated by the complexities of circumstance. For Veriki, primordiality is a subject that can be clearly divided into black and white.
